Powercrete® Products

Sub Categories
Powercrete®
Powercrete® is an epoxy-based polymer. Its main purpose is to protect the fusion bonded epoxy coating on steel pipe under severe handling conditions. The highly abrasion resistant Powercrete® provides a smooth surface that allows the pipeline to be pulled under the crossing in a “slick bore” operation with much less drag resistance than conventional concrete. Powercrete® can also be used for directional drills, bottom tow applications on submarine pipelines, and as a rockshield.

Powercrete® is sprayed onto the pipe and results in a hard smooth surface. Each spray pass results in a thickness of approximately 0.020” (0.508mm). Depending on the pipe diameter, multiple passes may be applied in order to build up to the desired thickness, ranging from 0.020” (0.508mm) to 0.125” (3.175mm). There is no laminating, therefore a homogeneous layer or cured Powercrete® results.

Powercrete® J
Powercrete® J is a very high bond 100% solids epoxy, which is extremely tolerate of substandard surface preparation. This derivate of Powercrete® is an epoxy based polymer that retains all of the mechanical protection properties of the original Powercrete, and has the added benefits of excellent corrosion protection and faster curing rates. Powercrete® J is highly abrasion and impact resistant corrosion coating that is applied over FBE and bare steel.

Powercrete® J was specifically developed and tested for use on pipeline and girth welds, and is also used extensively as a mainline rehabilitation coating. It is compatible with plant applied fusion bonded epoxy and coal tar enamel coated pipe. Powercrete® J can also be used for many pipeline, marine, and industrial applications.

Powercrete® J22
Powercrete® J-22 is a derivate of Powercrete®, using the same resins with an alternate hardener. The result is an epoxy based polymer concrete that retains all of the mechanical protection properties of the original Powercrete®, and has the added benefits of excellent corrosion protection and faster curing rates. Powercrete® J-22 is highly abrasion and impact resistant corrosion coating that is applied over clean, bare steel.

Powercrete® J-22 was specifically developed and tested for use on pipeline girth welds, and is also used extensively as a mainline rehabilitation coating. It is compatible with plant applied fusion bonded epoxy and coal tar enamel coated pipe. It can also be used for many pipeline, marine, and industrial applications. Powercrete® J-22 is designed for hot airless spray or manual application

Powercrete® R95
Powercrete® R95 is a High-Temperature/High-Build, liquid epoxy coating designed specifically for the corrosion protection of buried pipelines coating with Fusion Bonded Epoxy and operating temperatures up to 203° F (95° C). Powercrete® R95 is ideally suited for the corrosion protection of girth weld areas on FBE coated pipes, valves, fittings, and for the rehabilitation of pipelines with deteriorated coatings.

Powercrete® R95 is a 2-component, solvent-free epoxy and can easily achieve a final dry film thickness of up to 40 mils (1,016 microns) in a single coat, without drips or sags. Powercrete® R95 combines the adhesion, toughness and anti-corrosion properties of epoxy with the ease of application of a liquid coating. Contains no V.O.C.’s or isocyanates.

Powercrete® R100
Powercrete® R100 is a specially formulated 100% solids epoxy coating, containing no V.O.C.'s and combines the optimum qualities of mechanical protection with those of superior corrosion protection. Spray applied, Powercrete® R100 can achieve a dry film thickness of 40 mils (1 mm) with no drips or sags. The result is an epoxy based polymer coating, capable pf providing excellent corrosion protection of lines operating at temperatures up to 212°F (100°C).

Powercrete® R100 is a highly abrasion and impact resistant corrosion coating that is ideally suited for the protection of joints of Fusion Bonded Epoxy coated pipe. It is applied both over clean, bare steel and FBE coated steel. Powercrete® R100 was specifically developed and tested for the rehabilitation of high temperature pipelines as well as the protection of girth welds. It is compatible with plant applied fusion bonded epoxy and coal tar enamel coated pipe. It can be used for many other pipeline, marine, and industrial applications.

Powercrete® PW
Powercrete® PW is an epoxy-based polymer coating providing a highly abrasion resistant yet smooth surface after coating. Powercrete® PW has a NSF 61 approval and is designed for use as a pipe lining of potable and waste water pipes and storage tanks.

Powercrete® PW is applied to the inside of pipes and storage tanks by a variety of application methods including: spray, brush, roller and spinning. Typical application thickness ranges between 0.010” (0.254mm) and 0.080” (2mm) depending on level of abrasion protection required for the service.

Powercrete® PW, at an ambient temperature of approx. 90° F (32° C), gels to a smear free surface in about 30 minutes.

Powercrete® YGE
Powercrete® YGE is a specially formulated 100% solids epoxy coating, containing no V.O.C.'s, designed to meet AWWA C210 for the corrosion protection of field joints on water pipe and other metal structures. It combines the optimum qualities of mechanical protection with those of superior corrosion protection. Powercrete® YGE , when spray applied, can achieve a dry film thickness of 30 mils (0.75mm) with no drips or sags. The result is coating capable of providing excellent corrosion protection of lines operating at temperatures up to 140°F (60°C).

Powercrete® YGE is a highly abrasion and impact resistant corrosion coating that is ideally suited for the protection of field joints, bends, tees, valves and odd shapes. It is applied both over clean, bare steel and FBE coated steel. Powercrete® YGE was specifically developed and tested for large diameter water pipes and special pipe constructions, but is equally suited for the rehabilitation of pipelines as well as the protection of girth welds. It is compatible with all plant-applied coatings. It can be used for many other pipeline, marine, and industrial applications.
